I have drawn pretty much for most my life, a pad of paper and pencils never too far away. I'm self taught, teaching myself just by doing.
Most of my work is traditional: graphite & colour pencils/ pastels, & inks. This is mainly due to the ease of access to paper and pencil/ inks. I'm an artist that loves the tactile feel of papers and traditional materials to work with.
I like using Photoshop for editing and ArtRage for digital art. ArtRage a favourite because it's a very traditional feel as far as digital can be.
I draw because I love to, I consider making a profit out of art a bonus. If i didn't enjoy art I wouldn't do it as with most things!
Most of my art is science fiction or fantasy based. I have a vivid imagination and my art is a way of expressing that imagination, an outlet. I've always loved books, films, comics, music. All of which fuels that imagination.
Artists I admire that have influenced me:
HR Giger, Jim Burns, Peter Elson, Juan Giminez to name but a few.
I've produced concept artwork for horror novel Sinema by Rod Glenn, album art for Birmingham (UK) based punk band Police Bastard and backdrop concept artwork for a documentary all about the Alien franchise.
I've recently begun to study storyboarding and script writing and have taken a course in Art Direction. My Tutor being one Terry Ackland-Snow one of the film industry's most renowned Art Directors/ Production Designers.
